Sudan is an Arab state in North Eastern Africa and sometimes called North Sudan is officially known as the Republic of Sudan. The largest country in Africa and the Arab world, and tenth largest in the world by area. The country is bordered by Egypt to the north, the Red Sea to the northeast, Eritrea and Ethiopia to the east. The world's longest river, the Nile, divides the country between east and west sides. The capital city is Khartoum. Arabic is the official language but English is also spoken widely all over the country.

Sudan has varied physical properties. From Deserts to rivers we can find the most exotic locations for visit.

Despite being the 17th fastest growing economy in the world with new economic policies and infrastructure investments, Sudan still faces strong economic problems. Some macro-economic reforms have been adopted by the government to mend the issues in the economic system.

Education in Sudan is free and compulsory for children aged 6 to 13 years.

For generations, Sudan has been afflicted with the violence of war. Extensive spread of disease, poverty, natural calamities like famines and wars has increased the number of refugees fleeing to the United States. Education in Sudan has been inadequate for many reasons. Educational opportunities have almost weakened because of the Missionaries. The civil war is the core reason for high illiteracy rates in the country.

Education facilities are noticeably inadequate. Not much class room facilities, poor infrastructure, unhygienic bathrooms all amount to the downfall of education system in Sudan. The majority of teachers in southern Sudan lack the education and training needed to provide an enhanced learning environment for students. Lack of funding from Government, low salaries to teachers add more woes to the system of education in Sudan. January 2011 brought a new ray of hope to the Sudanese when they decided to liberate themselves from their Northern counterpart. Children have become aware of the future and are now turning towards education and hope for the future.
