Officially known as the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the country is located at the crossroads of Asia and Africa. The capital city is Amman. Over half of Jordan is covered by the Arabian Desert. The climate in Jordan is semi-dry in summer with average temperature and relatively cold in winter. Arabic is the official language of Jordan, while English is also widely spoken second language.
