Students from Iran

Iran is considered as the eighteenth largest country in the world. In Persian it means "Land of the Aryans". Its area roughly equals that of the United Kingdom, France, Spain, and Germany if combined. The capital city is Tehran. Iran has an arid and dry climate with relatively less rainfall. The name of the inhabitants in this country are generally as "Iranian".

Education in Iran faces a huge hurdle. The low productivity of education in Iran is largely due to the conventional method of teaching. What students learn in schools is not what they actually need later. There are institutions where proper teaching of English and computer skills is considered as an extra-curricular activity for most students and is available only to those whose parents can afford to pay for courses in private institutions. However, Iran has shown great improvement in Education Sector by building more institutions of higher education to absorb the uneducated and unemployed youth. In the last ten years, the number of those entering institutes of higher education at the undergraduate level has more than doubled. Demand for higher education in Iran has invariably risen due to the rising unemployment. A very important factor to be considered and brought in focus is the emancipation of women folk in education. Women have suffered a decline since the Revolution. The difficulty for the leaders of the Islamic republic in allowing women complete equality in employment and public activity revolves around religious questions of female modesty that run head-to-head with the exigencies of public life. Islam requires that both women and men adopt modest dress that does not inflame carnal desire. Due to the above factors Iranians opt out and look for places outside the country for higher studies. According to a survey conducted, Many Iranians Bangalore has become a famous destination choice and a storehouse of opportunities where they can overcome their inhibitions and excel in what they are good at.

A growing number of Iranian students are enrolled at universities in India, most notably in Pune and Bangalore. Bangalore has been one of the most popular place for students who want to pursue their higher education.
