Bahrain, officially the Kingdom of Bahrain is a small island country situated near the western shores of the Persian Gulf. It is an archipelago of 33 islands, the largest being Bahrain Island, at 55 km long by 18 km wide. Its capital city is Manama. They use the Bahraini Dinar as their currency. The climate of Bahrain is usually arid. Summers are usually very hot and humid. But they also experience pleasant winters. Arabic is the official language of Bahrain, but English is widely spoken all over as it is used as a compulsory second language in schools and corporate business. They follow Islam as their religion.

In Contrast with other Middle East nations, this country has been at least one step ahead in terms of educational development. In 1919 the first elementary school in Bahrain was established for boys, while the first girls' elementary school opened in 1928. There was a considerable increase in the percentage of Bahraini nationals working in the education sector from the period from 1990 to 2000. There have been improvements in adult literacy.

But still Technical Education is not given much importance. Thus slow improvements can be seen in people having computer literacy. These are why students are migrating from this country to other parts for pursuing higher education.
